Lawn season: buying well and reselling
Lawn is one of the few clothing categories in Pakistan with a genuine resale market. Collections launch on a predictable calendar, sell out in days, and then trade second-hand for the rest of the season — sometimes above the original price for a sought-after design.
The calendar drives everything
Collections drop in a compressed window in the early months of the year, sell hard, and are not restocked. That scarcity is what creates the resale market: once a design is gone from the brand, the only source is someone who bought one. Knowing when a collection launched tells you roughly what it should trade for now.
Unstitched holds value, stitched does not
An unstitched piece fits anyone, which keeps its buyer pool wide. Once it is stitched it fits one person, and the resale price falls sharply regardless of the quality of the tailoring. If you are buying with any thought of reselling, buy unstitched and keep it that way.
Telling an original from a copy
Copies of popular designs appear within weeks and are sold openly. Look at print registration where the pattern meets a seam, the weight and hand of the fabric, and the packaging and labels. Ask the seller for a photograph of the original bag or tag. A price far below the market for a current-season design is the clearest signal of all.
Buying in volume
Small retailers and home-based sellers buy lawn in bulk and resell by the piece. If that is your model, look for wholesale lots rather than single suits and confirm exactly what condition and completeness you are buying — a "lot" missing dupattas is worth substantially less and the shortfall is easy to miss in photographs.
